My Hero Academia to Toonami, One Piece’s Luffy Wears Deku’s Costume on Jump Cover

Toonami, the programming block for anime on the Cartoon Network television channel, has got a new quirk in the United States! They have announced starting Saturdays, May 5, 2018 the My Hero Academia anime will be part of its weekly programming. The series will air at 11:30 PM on Saturdays and will kick off with the very first episode, with all three seasons to be shown. It’s expected Toonami will show the English dub of the series, season 3 of which is being simuldubbed by Funimation.

In other news, the hero costume of My Hero Academia’s lead character Izuku “Deku” Midoriya is being worn by a character from another popular anime/manga series – Luffy from One Piece! The image below is the cover of the next issue, which will be issue 21/22, of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The issue is expected to be released on Monday, April 23, 2018 in Japan. For the unfamiliar, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump is the magazine in Japan that publishes many of the popular manga series such as My Hero Academia, One Piece, and Boruto. There are many other crossovers in this cover such as Black Clover’s Asta wearing Luffy’s costume and Deku wearing the jersey for Shoyo Hinata from the Haikyuu manga.
