With the story of Naruto and soon Dragon Ball Super finished, My Hero Academia is stepping upto the plate to fill the void left in our hearts by the conclusion of the other two series. My Hero Academia is officially described by Funimation as follows:

In a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that won’t stop him from enrolling in a prestigious hero academy. Now, the promising freshman class is making its debut at the world-renowned U.A. Sports Festival! It’s Quirk versus Quirk as our young heroes face off in the ultimate showdown.

The My Hero Academia manga is created by a mangaka known as Kohei Horikoshi. It was first serialized in Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on July 7, 2014. There are 172 chapters so far. The manga was subsequently adapted into an anime, which began airing in Japan on April 3, 2016. There are 38 episodes of the anime, 13 which are part of season 1 and 25 which are part of season 2. Episode 39 will be the first of My Hero Academia season 3 anime and it will begin with chapter 70 of the manga. It’s unclear how many episodes season 3 will have at this point, but it will cover at least the 14-chapter School Trip Arc of the manga.

In the School Trip Arc, the students of Izuku (nickname Deku) go on a school trip to a training camp under the supervision of a hero team, the Wild Wild Pussycats. The Wild Wild Pussycats are pictured in the scan below:

Takuya, who is the lead member of UVERworld, stated in a message their song for the season 3 opening of the anime will use the word “quirk”, referencing Izuku’s inheritance of One For All as inspiration for creating it. The ending theme will be performed by a Japanese singer named Miwa. She states in her message that her song is about improving one’s self and being able to see new sights.
