Dragon Ball Super Movie Teaser Trailer Released, Tie-In With Legends Game

Posted on March 20, 2018

The first teaser trailer for Dragon Ball Super has been released! It features our hero, Son Goku, warming up and then clashing fists with an unknown character who is a Saiyan! It’s rumored this character could be the mysterious, Yamoshi, who was the first ever Super Saiyan God. The trailer was revealed at a presentation by video game publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment in San Francisco, CA. Due to the theatrical success of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F in North America and other parts in the world a few years ago, the Dragon Ball Super movie will be released worldwide on December 14, 2018!

The Dragon Ball Super Movie, which is the twentieth feature film in the Dragon Ball series, will be focused on Saiyans. Goku will be in the movie and so will Frieza (he is not shown in the teaser). No additional details were released, but with this exciting announcement, it seems like the movie will have an English dub and Japanese dub when released. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see as we learn more.

Along with the Dragon Ball Super Movie teaser trailer, it was mentioned there will be a tie-in with the newly announced Dragon Ball Legends mobile game. The specific tie-in was not announced, but we at Anime Games Online believe one of the characters in Dragon Ball Legends will be in the Dragon Ball Super Movie. That character is the one with blue clothes in the Dragon Ball Legends trailer below. He is designed by Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama, and will have his own backstory. He is also a Saiyan. He looks different from what the character in the Dragon Ball Super Movie teaser trailer looks like, but with the possibility of transformations, he could be the same. One thing is for certain, and was revealed, is this Saiyan wearing blue clothes is from a different time than Goku’s era.

Dragon Ball Legends, in development by Dimps (the developers behind Xenoverse 2), will be released on Google Play and the Apple App Store this summer. Bandai Namco Entertainment plans to include all of the characters in the Dragon Ball series eventually in this game through updates. There will be an open beta from March 21 at 5:30 AM to March 26, 2018 at 6:00 PM PST. As we learn more, we hope to let you know!
