Broly and Bardock are the two confirmed DLC characters in Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ. Per Bandai Namco’s marketing materials, there are six more DLC characters planned (for a total of eight DLC characters). Who those other six arey are and when they will be released has not yet been announced. Actually, the release date for Broly and Bardock haven’t been announced either at this point in time.
According to data mines of Dragon Ball FighterZ on PC/Steam, signs indicate those six additional DLC characters will be Saiyan Saga Goku, Saiyan Saga Vegeta, Vegito Blue, Merged Zamasu, Android 17 as a standalone character, and Cooler. The rumored release date for all of these characters is by July 2018. Including Broly and Bardock, the first batch of DLC characters are rumored to be known as “Season 1” DLC characters.
Rumor has it “Season 2” characters, which are expected to be released between July 2018 and January 1, 2019, are Tapion, Gogeta, Master Roshi, Videl (with Great Saiyaman support), Raditz, Zarbon, Cabba, and Kale (with Caulifla). This is all according to a user named forum user AlexFlame116. Surprisingly, key characters in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power such as Jiren and Toppo are not included in the rumor which makes us raise an eyebrow at the legitimacy since those are two highly desired fighters by fans. We’re not sure how reliable the user reporting the rumor is, but we thought the rumor was interesting enough to share.
The current roster of characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ is at 24: Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Adult Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien (with Chiaotzu support), Yamcha, Android 18 (with Android 17 support), Android 16, Android 21, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Nappa (with Saibaman support), Frieza, Cell, Goku Black, Hit, Captain Ginyu, Beerus, Gotenks, and Future Trunks.
The final count of characters by the time all of the DLC is released will be at a minimum 32, but could very well balloon to 40 if these rumors end up being true. If there is any substance to these rumors, we hope to let you know right here on Anime Games Online!
