Dragon Ball FighterZ: Open Beta Begins January 13 on PS4 and Xbox One

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the dates for the Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta! For those who pre-ordered the game digitally and at participating retailers, it will begin on January 13, 2018 at midnight Pacific Time (PT). The exclusive access to the open beta will remain for those who pre-order until January 14, 2018 at 11:59 PM (PT). At that point, on January 14 at 12 noon, the open beta will be open to everyone, regardless of if they have pre-ordered or not. The open beta will end at midnight (PT) on January 16, 2018. Below are the timings by region. It’s worth noting the open beta runs all day on the dates mentioned, which is a welcomed contrast from the closed beta (it only was playable at certain times).

US Pacific Time (PT)

  • Early Access: January 13, 12 midnight
  • Beta Opens: January 14, 12 midnight
  • Beta Closes: January 16, 12 midnight

US Eastern Time (ET)

  • Early Access: January 13, 3 AM
  • Beta Opens: January 14, 3 AM
  • Beta Closes: January 16, 3AM

UK Time

  • Early Access: January 13, 8 AM
  • Beta Opens: January 14, 8 AM
  • Beta Closes: January 16, 8 AM

Australian (AEDT) Time

  • Early Access: January 13, 7 PM
  • Beta Opens: January 14, 7 PM
  • Beta Closes: January 16, 7 PM

The open beta will be on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s expected the open beta will contain same playable characters as the closed beta – Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Future Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, Android 16, Android 18, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment on January 26, 2018 in North America and Europe and on February 1, 2018 in Japan.
