Some of the most memorable scenes in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super are making their way to Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ! In a new trailer from Jump Festa 18, an annual event held by Weekly Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha to celebrate and showcase various anime/manga/games and more, we see some of those memorable scenes. This includes (but not limited to) Frieza killing Krillin on Namek, Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time, Teen Gohan’s face after defeating Cell, Goku defeating Kid Buu, and Beerus saving Goku from falling in space. These memorable scenes will occur during and at the end of battles when certain conditions are met.
What those conditions are is unknown at the moment, but we’d guess it would be if certain characters are in a fight or are fighting and something was performed in a manner similar to that in the anime, then we’d see a memorable scene. For example, we think if Goku and Frieza fight on Namek, we’d see Frieza killing Krillin in the opening and Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan. Or we think if Goku and Beerus are fighting in space and the final move Beerus performs the Sphere of Destruction to defeat Goku as his final attack, then that will trigger the scene from the Dragon Ball Super anime or Battle of Gods movie to play. At least that’s how we think it will work, the official word right now is when certain conditions are met.
Also in the trailer are many of the characters confirmed thus far, including the latest three – Beerus, Goku Black with Zamasu, and Hit! We see what looks to be each of their character intros look like briefly along with them fighting a character we’ve seen them fight in the anime. In other words, Beerus is seen fighting Goku, Hit is seen fighting Super Saiyan Blue Goku, and Goku Black is seen fighting Trunks.
