Unlock your full potential in Dragon Ball FighterZ as Adult Gohan, Kid Buu, and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks from the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z make their way as confirmed playable characters in Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works’ up-coming fighter! This brings the roster of playable characters to 20. The confirmed characters thus far in addition to the three newly announced ones are Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, Android 16, Android 18, Captain Ginyu, Cell, Future Trunks, Frieza, Teen Gohan, Majin Buu, Krillin, Nappa, Piccolo, Tien, and Yamcha. If you include the game-exclusive character Android 21 – who has not yet been shown as a playable character (just in story), but being assumed as someone who will be playable – then there are 21 playable characters so far.

Now to the new characters. First up is Kid Buu who is an all-around powerful character with the following stats: Energy: 4, Power: 4, Speed: 4, Reach: 3, Technique: 4. Kid Buu is a tricky character for opponents as he has unpredictable movements and a stretchy body. Kid Buu is equipped with the Planet Burst special attack which has the power to destroy the Earth!

Next is Adult Gohan, who is a character who has speed and technique. His stats are as follows: Energy: 2, Power: 3, Speed: 4, Reach: 3, Technique: 4. When his ki gauge is at it’s max, he can borrowed the power of the Elder Kai to unlock his hidden potential and supercharge his attacks! Depending on the amount of Ki, the power of attacks will change. Gohan is equipped with the Ultimate Kamehameha as his special attack. The amount of damage it does compared to a regular Kamehameha is far greater.

Last, but not least, is the fusion of Goten and Trunks – Gotenks – in Super Saiyan 3 form! He is equipped with the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, which summons ghosts and deals damage to the opponents. That’s not all though! Gotenks also has the Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball, which is a unique move that imprisons the opponent within golden rings in the shape of a ball and then can be used to play volleyball with teammates! It can be finished off with a spike to deal maximum damage! Not only that, but scenes for the Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball may change depending on the combination of team members! Gotenks’ strength lies in his speed and energy as his stats are as follows – Power: 3, Speed: 4, Reach: 1, Technique: 3, Energy: 4.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, players can purchase things like costume color variations and titles from the Item Shop. Money to purchase from the Item Shop is earned from battles. In single player, when playing in the game’s CPU in Arcade Mode, there will be ranks (as represented in the screenshot at the bottom right). Depending on your result against the enemy team – win or loss – the route which you can take in the Arcade screen of opponents can change!
