Dragon Ball FighterZ: Nappa, Ginyu Confirmed Playable, February 1 Release in Japan

Posted on October 18, 2017

Shuisesha’s V-Jump magazine reveals Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ is launching on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 1, 2018 in Japan. It is slated for release in February 2018 in Europe as well and Early 2018 in North America.

Along with the release date is news of two new playable characters – Nappa and Captain Ginyu! Nappa can uses a special attack called Kappa and summon the power of the Saibamen as support (similar to how Tien calls Chiaotzu or 18 calls 17). Captain Ginyu has his Body Change special attack – allowing him to switch the body and HP with his opponent – and can summon The Ginyu Force.

Additional details for story mode reveal that each of the Z Warriors or ‘Super Warriors’ fall one by one. When our hero Goku comes to, you, the player, will be linked to him. The link between player and character will forge bonds, that deep enough, will allow you to hear private conversations. For Example, Yamcha will say “I want to get married!” or Vegeta will say “Bulma has a nasty personality…”. Goku, Yamcha, and Vegeta will not be the only character who players will control in story mode. In the Android Saga, for example, players will be linked to 18 and in the Enemy Warriors Saga, they will be linked to Frieza. In the story mode for Dragon Ball FighterZ, players will be able to freely select if they want to battle and build experience points, rescue allies, learn new skills, and more while advancing.
