Dragon Ball FighterZ: A New Beta, An Open Beta Announced

This past weekend, FighterZ gathered in the ring to exchange blows of Dragon Ball proportions in the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta. This was a closed beta, meaning only some lucky members of the community could participate. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, only a fraction of Dragon Ball fans who wanted to participate in it. PlayStation 4 owners were limited by invitations, while on Xbox One there were issues and lobby limitations.

The goal of the DRAGON BALL FighterZ closed beta was simply to provide a stress tests for the game servers and gather player feedback on the gameplay and its balance in order to optimize the game before its release – it was not meant to be a demo. Even so, those who were unable to participate were left disappointed.

Well, there is good news! Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced there will be a new beta in the future -an open beta! This means anyone and everyone will have the opportunity to jump into the action!

When will the open beta take place? How many playable characters will there be? Will it be on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and maybe the Nintendo Switch? The answer to all of these questions is currently unknown. As soon as we know more, we hope to let you know right here on Anime Games Online!

Update: The open beta will be in January 2018

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in early 2018.
