New Naruto Game in Works? Bandai Namco Trademarks Ninja Voltage

Posted on July 24, 2017

Fans, they’d love to see a brand new Naruto game! Yes, there is Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker hitting PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2018, but the reception for the game hasn’t been positive thus far, even though it hasn’t been released yet. Some fans are calling it Naruto: Battle of Z, as a joke intended to reference the 2014 video game, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, which touted online gameplay and team battles, similar to Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker.

To be quite frank, developer CyberConnect2 set the bar very high with the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series so anything less than that is a failure in the eyes of Naruto fans. Of course it’s best to wait for Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker to be released before before marking it with final judgement. The game could very well surprise fans with an exciting new experience. That’s our hope!

With that said, Bandai Namco Entertainment has filed a trademark for the words “Ninja Voltage” in Europe. No additional information has been revealed or announced aside from the trademark of “Ninja Voltage”.

The statement that it is a Naruto game is just our assumption here on Anime Games Online. The first franchise that came to our minds when reading “Ninja Voltage” was Naruto and a new Naruto game in the works by CyberConnect2. This assumption could very well end up being untrue. The trademark was just filed today, as shown in the image below. Our guess is this is a Nintendo Switch game since Shinobi Striker is coming to the other platforms and not to Switch. It could very well be a mobile game as well, like Ultimate Ninja Blazing.

Just as a quick background, Ultimate Ninja Blazing was trademarked in February of 2016. Bandai Namco made the announcement for the game in May of 2016.

If that is an indication of anything, it may still be a few months until we learn about what “Ninja Voltage” really is. And as we know more, we hope to let you know right here on Anime Games Online!
