The 2018 Bleach Live Action gets it’s first teaser trailer. The 22-second teaser shows main character Ichigo Kurosaki (played by 24-year old Japanese actor Sota Fukushi) bringing down a Hollow, which is a corrupt spirit with supernatural powers that devours the souls of both living and deceased Humans.
Although not stated in the trailer, from watching the anime, it seems this scene is from the anime’s very first episode where a hollow, named Fishbone D, comes to absorb Ichigo’s high spiritual energy. Fishbone D starts attacking Ichigo’s home and wounds a Shinigami (known as a Soul Reaper in English). In order to save his family, Ichigo desperately takes that Shinigami’s power into himself and becomes a Shinigami to successfully defeat the Hollow.
The Bleach 2018 Live Action Movie will focus on the Substitute Shinigami Arc, which is the manga’s first arc. It spanned the first 63 episodes of the Bleach anime and first eight volumes of the Bleach manga.
Yesterday, the first key visual of the movie featuring Ichigo was released. You can take a look at it here.
Mangaka Kubo Tite launched Bleach in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2001 and concluded the series in August of 2016. The live action Bleach movie was originally announced in 2012 and then confirmed to be directed by Shinsuke Sato, who directed the live-action Gantz movies.
The Bleach live action movie will debut in Japan in the Summer of 2018 thanks to Warner Bros. The chapters or episodes the movie will cover has not yet been revealed at this point in time. No news has been announced in regards to a Bleach anime at this time, which ran 366 episodes from 2004 to 2012, starting with the beginning of the Bleach manga to chapter 479 (the The Lost Substitute Shinigami arc). Anime Games Online hopes to have additional information in regards to the Bleach live action movie (and anime if anything transpires) as it is announced.
