Dragon Ball FighterZ: Earns Multiple E3 Awards, Social Mentions, Only 20% Finished

The 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has come to a close. The event had many praiseworthy games on display for event-goers to experience – from Assassins Creed Origins to Mario Odyssey to Skyrim. One game, however, stood above the rest. A fighting game, based on a legendary franchise featuring one of the most iconic heroes of all time that has been watched and read by millions of fans around the world. In development by Arc System Works and to be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment worldwide in early 2018, that award-winning game was Dragon Ball FighterZ!

You can see in the image below from the E3 showfloor, Dragon Ball FighterZ received, to our count, at least 20 awards, and those are just the one in view of the image below. This includes being labeled as the 2017 winner by popular gaming website GameSpot.

What makes this accomplishment even more praiseworthy is the percentage the game is complete. Dragon Ball FighterZ producer Tomoko Hiroki in an interview by Korean website Ruliweb, mentioned the game is only 20% complete! In other words Dragon Ball FighterZ, this game, it isn’t even in it’s final form yet.

The Internet has been buzzing about Dragon Ball FighterZ by Dragon Ball and fighting game fans alike. Social intelligence platform, Brandwatch was monitoring the buzz and is reporting almost 40,000 mentions of the game were made from June 10 to June 13. This makes it the eighth most talked about game during that period of time.

Dragon Ball Fighters Announced for 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, PC

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Confirmed playable characters thus far include Goku (normal, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 3, Frieza (Final Form, Golden) Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, Vegeta (normal and Super Saiyan), Perfect Cell, and Majin Buu. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in early 2018.
