The next generation is upon us! A new visual for Boruto: Naruto Next Generation has been released and it features Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, Inojin Yamanaka, Chocho Akimichi, and Shikadai Nara. The visual reveals Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will hit Japanese airwaves on April 5, 2017. That debut date is a Wednesday, meaning this anime will air on a different day than Naruto Shippuden, which has been airing on Thursday since it began back in February of 2007.
Here is a new visual showing Boruto with Naruto’s jacket tattered more than ever. The drawing is the cover to chapter 10 of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga and also promotes the anime’s release.
This third and final visual, a scan from Shuiseha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, has comments from the Director and Chief Director of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Director Hiroyuki Yamashita mentions the following: “Right now we are preparing this spring’s broadcast. The more we go on meetings, the more I draw and write and the more I feel it’s going to be hard to give Boruto his own identity. There are two types of viewers: the people who expect great things from Boruto and the ones who are new to the series. If they both feel they want to watch him, that would make me happy.”
Chief Director Noriyuki Abe comments: “I’ve inherited the epic tale of Naruto and the souls of its gigantic cast of characters and at the same time I awakened myself to this new era and this new protagonist’s story. This is honestly very difficult, but at the same time it’s worth the effort. I’m getting numb. The entire staff is mobilized to make this interesting and fun. You can expect great things. I will never betray my fellow Naruto fans, of course.”
