The Death Note returns to the world of the living! Ten years after Kira/Yagami Light’s death, new Death Notes have made their way into the hands of humans. Shot overseas and distributed by Warning Bros, Death Note Light Up the New World is the sequel to the 2006 live-action movie’s Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name.
Death Note Light Up the New World will open in Japan on October 29. It will be preceded by a three-episode prequel mini-series titled Death Note NEW GENERATION, which will premiere on Hulu on September 16. It bridges the 10-year gap between the previous films and the 2016 movie.
Death Note Light Up the New World has been confirmed for a release in Australia by Madman Entertainment. Nothing has been announced for North America at this time, but seeing as how the trailer is officially English-subbed by Madman, we at Anime Games Online expect to make it Stateside as well. Take a look at the first official trailer below along with character/actor profiles. We hope to have more information on the movie as soon as it is available!
