Fairy Tail, Hunter x Hunter Win Koei Tecmo, Gust Studio Poll

Posted on February 12, 2016

Could Fairy Tail and Hunter x Hunter be getting a console-based video game? It seems more possible than ever! Last week we reported on a poll created by video game publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust Studio where they were asking fans “What anime collaboration would you like to see in a future Gust title?” In our previous article on the topic, Anime Games Online had wrote the poll was to gather opinion for a crossover game, and while that may still hold true, we’ve heard some say “collaboration” means the team-up of an anime series and Gust Studio.

Whatever the case, both are exciting, fans voted for their favorite series and Fairy Tail got the win as it was the top pick followed by Hunter x Hunter. Both fantastic choices and two series very worthy of their own full-fledged game on current generation consoles. We at Anime Games Online certainly support both choices as we love both series! They have a diverse cast of characters with a plethora of awesome special attacks. It’s a surprise we haven’t seen an epic console game this (PS4, Xbox One) or even last (PS3, 360) generation.

Now, just to be clear, we aren’t sure what’s next. Neither a console, type of game, or really anything has been announced. Koei and Gust were only gathering opinions of the fans. We’d personally love a crossover fighting game, but even one dedicated to a single series would be exciting! For now all we can do is wait and see what’s next.

Below are the results of the poll. There were two questions, we focused only on the first one since it was obvious to us “characters” and “story” would be the top two choices for the second question.
