Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is the final game in CyberConnect2’s epic STORM franchise, however, it’s not the final Naruto game. While we are still a few months away from Storm 4’s February 2016 release date, the next Naruto game may very well be in the works as Bandai Namco has filed trademarks for three titles related to the Naruto franchise. They are Narutimate Wars, Narutimate Braves, and Narutimate Blazing.
For those unfamiliar, in Japan, the “Ultimate Ninja” series is titled “Narutimate”. In other words, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is titled Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 4 in Japan. The English equivalent to these three trademarked titles would be Ultimate Ninja Wars, Ultimate Ninja Braves, and Ultimate Ninja Blazing.
There are no additional details on Narutimate Wars, Narutimate Braves, or Narutimate Blazing. It’s unclear if these will be three separate games or three potential titles for one game. For those who have been following the Storm series with passion since its announcement in 2007, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm franchise originally had a tentative title of Naruto PS3 Project. If our memory here at Anime Games Online serves us correct, fans had the opportunity to vote for the title of the PS3 Project. The game would be titled Naruto: Ultimate Ninja something, with something being the word fans would be able to decide on. STORM ultimately came out on top as the favorite, leading to Ultimate Ninja Storm.
It may very well be possible Bandai Namco will allow fans to select what they would like the title of the next Naruto game to be out of these three trademarks. We’re, of course, just guessing here. All we know for sure is Narutimate Wars, Narutimate Braves, and Narutimate Blazing have been trademarked in Japan by Bandai Namco Entertainment. What will these three trademarks represent in the future, well, our guess is just as good as yours. We hope to keep you updated with the latest as it is announced!
