Bandai Namco Entertainment has published the sales numbers for games between the period of April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015. The leader of the pack is their most recent game actually, the February 2015 multiplatform title Dragon Ball Xenoverse (PS4/PS3/XB1/360/PC), which sold a huge 2.06 million copies worldwide! Naruto Storm Revolution (PS3/360/PC) followed with 1 million copies and One Piece: Unlimited World Red (PS3/Wii/Vita/3DS) came in third with 650,000 copies sold worldwide.
Bandai Namco also published sales generated for One Piece and Dragon Ball products they’ve sold overall, which doesn’t just include video games, but toys and other hobby items. One Piece sales were 24.6 billion yen (around $ 206.4 USD), which is down from last year’s 26.8 billion yen and 33.9 billion yen the year before that. Dragon Ball, however, is on the up and up! It saw sales of 19.4 billion yen (around $162.6 million USD), which is considerably more than last year’s 11.4 billion yen and 8.9 billion yen from two years ago. Naruto sales were not announced, although we aren’t sure how big of a player Bandai Namco is of Naruto products outside of video games.
We at Anime Games Online hope the success continues for our favorite publisher as they continue to deliver great products fans desire. A video game sequel has yet to be announced for Dragon Ball Xenoverse, but for the One Piece franchise there is Pirate Warriors 3 (PS4/PS3/Vita/PC) slated for a August 2015 release in Europe/US (the game is out already in Japan) and for Naruto is the highly anticipated worldwide release of Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (PS4/XB1/PC) sometime in Fall 2015.
