Japanese statistics company Oricon has announced Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto Manga volume 72, the final in the epic Naruto series, was surpassed the 1 million mark in sales in Japan! The volume was released on February 4, 2015 and reporting period for sales includes data since launch and February 15, 2015.
In its first week at retailers, a gigantic 874,120 copies were sold and in its second week another 186,887 fans purchased the volume for a two week total of 1,061,007!
While the main Naruto series has ended, the journey for Naruto fans still continues through other projects! There is the Naruto part 3 mini-series in the works by Kishimoto-sensei for this summer, an official book series featuring certain characters from Naruto, Boruto: Naruto the Movie scheduled for an August 2015 Japanese theatrical release, and of courseBandai Namco Games and CyberConnect2’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4! Oh, and The Last: Naruto the Movie begins playing in select theaters starting today in the USA!
