FUNimation, the company behind the English dub of One Piece and Dragon Ball Z, has announced today it’s acquired the rights to One Piece Film: Z! The movie is the 12th and latest in the One Piece franchise. The movie was originally released in Japanese theaters on December 15, 2012 and DVD/Blu-ray on June 28, 2013. The North American debut will be straight to home video, with the release date sometime in Fall 2014.
One Piece Film: Z’s story centers around Luffy and his crew facing off against the powerful, former Marine Admiral “Z.” One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda worked closely with the director on the movie, similar to movie 10, One Piece Film: Strong World, which had a North American release of November 2013.
