CyberConnect2 (CC2) president Hiroshi Matsuyama has recently spoken to various outlets at Bandai Namco’s Global Gamers Day in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA). In two new interviews, he drops 3 interesting tidbits!
The first is CC2 is aims to sell over 1.5 million copies of Naruto Storm Revolution worldwide! It was mentioned in a prior interview as well, but we missed highlighting it before. It’s quite a goal and very possible to achieve, in our opinion. The game’s predecessor, Naruto Storm 3, had shipments of over 1.8 million copies in January 2014.
The second is about the phenomenal anime/manga known as Attack on Titan. Well, a game representing the series. The interviewer asks “wouldn’t it be cool if CyberConnect2 made an Attack on Titan game?” Matsuyama-san emphatically responds “yes, oh yes”! This, of course, shouldn’t be taken as confirmation of anything other than Matsuyama-san would think it would be cool if CC2 worked on such a game. Nonetheless, we at Anime Games Online thought the prospect would be interesting and liked Matsuyama-san’s response so we thought we’d highlight it!
The second interview has Matsuyama-san potentially revealing an early September release date for Naruto Storm Revolution. We say potentially because the subtitles for the interview say September 8 which is a Monday. Naruto games in North America are generally released on Tuesdays. Storm Revolution could be an exception, but we think it’s more likely to be coming out on September 9th (a Tuesday) in North America. Bandai Namco Games has confirmed a September 2014 release, however, they have not formally announced an exact date. In other words, take both September 8 and September 9 as speculatory for now.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is the latest game in Namco Bandai and CyberConnect2’s acclaimed Naruto Storm series. It’ll contain team jutsus and over 100 playable characters, and 50 minutes of exclusive anime footage. The game will be released worldwide in September 2014.
