Namco Bandai Games has released new images and information for the PS3/Vita/WiiU/3DS cross platform title One Piece: Unlimited World Red! They feature screenshots and art of our beloved Straw Hats as well as two game-exclusive characters – Red (the evil-looking man) and Pato (the tanuki). Also shown are sketches for the two original characters, drawn by the creator of One Piece himself, Eiichiro Oda! The game is slated for a release later this year in North America and Europe, however, no specific date has been mentioned at this time.

The grand adventure through the New World awaits in NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.’s upcoming action adventure game ONE PIECE Unlimited World Red. NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. is pleased to announce today that players will experience a whole new game-exclusive storyline with original characters designed by the famed creator of ONE PIECE, Eiichiro Oda himself!

The Straw Hat Pirates encounter and befriend a cheerful and sassy raccoon named Pato who possesses a mysterious power to create anything drawn onto a leaf. In order to help their new friend, the Straw Hat Pirates agree to assist Pato on an ambiguous mission “to meet someone;” Pato then leads the crew to the Forgotten Island where all the Straw Hat Pirates except Luffy are subsequently kidnapped by a villainous pirate named The Red Count, who had escaped the lower depths of Impel Down two years ago. With Pato’s help, Luffy must fight to recover his crew from the enemy’s grasp and find out exactly what The Red Count’s evil plots are.

ONE PIECE Unlimited World Red will land at retailers in the Americas in 2014 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system, in addition to seeing digital-only releases for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system and the Wii U™ system.
