Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will have up to 70 playable characters. 67 of those can be unlocked by playing the game, while the other three can be obtained through downloadable content (DLC). The three DLC exclusive characters are Sage Mode Goku, Super Vegito, and Super Saiyan Bardock. A code to download Sage Mode Goku will be available worldwide to anybody who pre-orders the game or gets a first-run copy for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
As for Super Vegito and Super Saiyan Bardock, fans who pre-order the game in Europe and Australia will receive both characters in addition to Sage Mode Goku. For the United States and Canada, Namco Bandai America has announced on how players can obtain these two characters. For Super Vegito, players must buy Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z from retailers Best Buy or Future Shop. For Super Saiyan Bardock, the game must be purchased from GameStop or EB Games. Since there is no physical copy of the PlayStation Vita of the game in North America, we at Anime Games Online are guessing the characters are for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Again, this is for the USA and Canada only.
We would be surprised if there isn’t any other way to obtain the DLC and if PlayStation Vita owners are left out of the action. Then again, if we refer back to history, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised. For Namco Bandai’s 2013 title Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, Goku Costume Naruto was available only in first-run copies. After that, it was never offered again. And until the Full Burst version of the game was released in October 2013 in North America – 7 months after the original Naruto Storm 3 came out – players could only obtain a handful of character costumes by subscribing to anime streaming service Neon Alley.
Stay tuned, we hope to keep you updated on Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z and it’s DLC right here on Anime Games Online! For now, check out a quick promo for Super Saiyan Bardock.
