Two new Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods TV ads have been released! The first is related to food company Ace Cook, who is selling Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods themed instant ramen at Japanese grocery stores. It features a scene, we assume is from the movie, with Goku powering up. The cards shown are gift cards, worth ¥500 (about $5.63 USD) each, that can be won by 10,000 people buying participating products. Those gift cards can be used across bookstores in Japan. Thanks Jaye Stephen for the heads up.
The second is a 30 second ads that shares a lot of scenes from the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Trailer that was released a few months ago. The only difference we noted was Vegeta flying at the 16 second mark. A similar screenshots was revealed last week
Lastly is a snapshot from a Dragon Ball Z guidebook. It mentions Bils, the God of Destruction, has awoken after being a sleep for 39 years. His awakening means that planets which he oversees will be destroyed. One of the planets in his jurisdiction? Earth. The snapshot doesn’t give any information on Whiss other then he is an attendant for Bils.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the 18th movie in the Dragon Ball anime series. It will take place between Dragon Ball manga chapters 517 and 518, in the 10 year timeskip after Goku defeats Buu, but before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Akira Toriyama along with Toei Animation, Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games are all involved. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is set to release in Japanese theaters March 30, 2013. There is no word on a North American or European release date at this time for either movie.
