Rock Lee Anime Debuts April 3rd on TV Tokyo

Posted on February 2, 2012

A new scan from Japan’s Saikyo Jump reveals the Rock Lee Anime will be debuting April 3rd, 2012 on TV Tokyo at 6 PM Japanese Standard Time!

Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden (Rock Lee’s Springtime of Youth Full Power Ninja Training) follows Mr. Hardwork through various humorous scenarios. The anime is being adapted from a spin-off Naruto manga series which was released in Saikyo Jump back in December 2010. The Rock Lee anime will be directed by Masahiko Murata, who also worked on Naruto Shippuden Movie 4: The Lost Tower and Naruto Shippuden Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire.

Characters including Naruto, Sakura, Konohamaru, Guy, Tenten, and Neji are expected to make an appearance in the anime, just as they have in the manga version of the Rock Lee spin-off.

By the way, at this time it’s unclear whether this series will make it’s way to official, legal North American outlets like Hulu or NickToons. We do believe this series will likely be picked up by our fellow Naruto fans and released online in fan-subbed fashion. We will be surprised if it’s not!
