Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja, developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Namco Bandai Games, was released October 18th in North America and October 20th in Japan. Now that the game has been out over a week, the sales figures are in! For the week of October 16 to October 22, Naruto Impact sold an estimated 15,201 copies in North America. That was the highest selling PSP game last week! However, it was only the 32nd highest selling game overall last week, which is pretty disappointing. Since the game came out on the 18th, that means it sold on average of 3,040 copies a day.
Naruto Impact in Japan, on the other hand, sold extremely well. In calculating sales figures, Japan’s week begins on a Monday so from October 17th to Sunday, October 23rd, Naruto Impact sold a huge 53,148 copies! Now remember, in Japan the game came out on October 20th, so 53,148 copies of Naruto Impact were actually sold in 4 days! That’s a nice 13,287 copies a day sold, on average. Overall, Naruto Impact was the number one selling game last week for the PSP in Japan and the 2nd best seller among all games sold last week. Only Namco Bandai’s newly released PS3 action gamei, Gekijouban Macross F: Sayonara no Tsubasa, sold more copies.
