Confusion is abound online as Namco Bandai Games Europe has released a press release (below) that mentions Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact will be released November 11, 2011 in Europe. We’re pretty shocked to find this out as we thought October 21st was the release date throughout Europe. We did some research and here is what we found:
- Namco Bandai’s UK site has listed October 21st, 2011 as the Naruto Impact release date
- Amazon UK has listed November 11th
- Namco Bandai’s France site has listed October 21st
- Amazon France has listed October 21st
- Namco Bandai’s Italy site has listed November 10th
- Amazon Italy has listed November 10th
- Namco Bandai’s Greece site has listed October 21st
- Namco Bandai’s Norway site has listed October 21st
- (There is no Amazon Greece or Norway)
- Namco Bandai’s Germany site has listed November 11th
- Amazon.de has listed November 11th
Becoming a bit worried about North America, we at Anime Games Online checked Amazon.com and were greeted with the text “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock”. Almost having a mini-heart attack, we went to Amazon Canada along with Namco Bandai Games America, Best Buy, and GameStop and saw they all have listed October 18 as the release date. Not only that, the North American trailer has listed October 18, 2011. Additionally, Viz Media has announced they will be giving free copies of the game tomorrow to New York Comic Con visitors.
EDIT: Thanks to joui jouão for pointing this out – the Kage’s Trailer for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact also mentions October 21st as a release date. The TGS trailer has October 21st written in the description, but not in the trailer and the trailers serving as the intro on the European sites mentioned above only say “Autumn 2011”. This leads us to believe one of two things A) October 21st was a potential release date, but not fully agreed upon throughout Namco Bandai Europe so some countries in Europe will be getting the game before others or B)the game has been delayed and thus all of the European sites have not yet been updated with a November date. Of course, we don’t know the real reason since we aren’t affiliated with Namco Bandai. Anime Games Online is just a site full of passionate fans reporting on their games, so we’ll have to wait until October 21st to see what happens.
By the way, Japan is pretty much 100% confirmed for an October 20th release date. The official website, Amazon Japan, and all of the scans we’ve gotten lately have had that date.
