Official Japanese Manga Site to Launch August 17

Posted on July 22, 2011

JMangaBack in November, we posted about a partnership between 37 (well, now 39) manga publishers to launch an official, legal outlet for North Americans to enjoy Japanese manga. Well, just yesterday the publishers, collectively known as Japan’s Digital Comic Association, put out a press release to formally announce that their manga site,, will officially open it’s doors this year on August 17th! Currently it’s under restricted beta testing.

If our memory serves us correct, there will be free manga, manga that has to be paid for, manga artist interviews, articles, and social networking features on JManga. We here at Anime Games Online certainly hope the free manga includes the latest chapters of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. This hasn’t been confirmed, we are just hoping for that! Reason is those three series alone generate most of the buzz online. If JManga is to be a success, and we would love for it to be in order to support the industry, providing the latest chapters of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece for free before scans of them hit the web is a must! Only time will tell what happens. For now, check out the press release by Japan’s Digital Comic Association.
