Back in November, One Piece manga volume 60 (titled “My Brother”) was the first manga to sell over 2 million copies according to the statistic-keeping organization, Oricon. In fact, it sold 2 million in it’s first week at Japanese retailers! Well, now that same manga volume has shattered records again and has gone on to sell over 3 million copies! To be a bit more exact, the 60th volume of the One Piece manga sold 16,000 copies during the week of March 28-April 3 for a total of 3,011,000 copies!

The 60th volume may not be the sold record holder for long. The 61st volume of One Piece (titled Romance Dawn: For the New World) sold over 2 million copies in just 3 days back in February of this year and has just sold 26,051 copies during the week of March 28-April 3 for a grand total of 2,996,545 copies sold!

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece series as a whole now has more than 200 million copies in print. Although there have been 61 volumes published, Oda has stated the series is only half finished. One Piece made it’s debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 1997. Viz Media will publish the volume 57 in North America this June and Shueisha will publish volume 62 in Japan this May.
