Naruto Surpasses the 100 Million Mark

Our favorite orange-clad ninja is doing it big! Japanese publisher Shueisha has recently announced that it has printed 100,400,000 books of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto manga series!

Thus far there have been 50 volumes of Naruto released, with #51 coming this Friday. So, was Naruto the only one to reach this milestone? No, but it sure is in good company! Naruto is the fifth Shueisha manga to surpass the 100-million mark. The first Sheisha manga to surpass the 100 million mark was Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo, followed by SI’s favorite Dragon Ball, then Slam Dunk, and another SI favorite – One Piece!

Here again is the order in which the manga hit 100-million.
1. Kochira Katsushika-ku – 142 million
2. Dragon Ball – 152 million
3. Slam Dunk – 117 million
4. One Piece – 189 million
5. Naruto – 100.4 million

Below is a list of the Sheisha manga to surpass the 100 million mark in order of copies sold.
1. One Piece – 189 million
2. Dragon Ball – 152 million
3. Kochira Katsushika-ku – 142 million
4. Slam Dunk – 117 million
5. Naruto – 100.4 million

Lets hope for another hundred million for the Leaf’s #1 hyperactive knucklehead ninja!
